A method proven for over 150 years
Während Laser und IPL vergleichsweise junge Technologien sind, verödet die Elektrolyse bereits seit dem 19. Jahrhundert die Haarwurzel dauerhaft. Sie war schon damals so etabliert, dass Salons offen damit warben. While laser and IPL are comparatively young technologies, electrolysis has been deactivating the hair root permanently since the 19th century. It was so established even then that salons advertised it openly.
The electrolysis timeline
Von der ersten Behandlung bis zur ausgereiften Methode, die wichtigsten Meilensteine im Überblick. From the very first treatment to the refined method it is today, the most important milestones at a glance.
- 1875Charles Michel M.D. first removes ingrown eyelashes using galvanic current (electrolysis).
- 1887Heinrich Hertz generates high-frequency current (thermolysis) with an oscillator.
- 1916Prof. Paul Klee develops the "multiple needle method" (4 to 6 probes at once).
- 1920Photoepilation with soft X-rays, later rejected because of the risk of skin cancer.
- 1923Dr. Jules Bordier uses thermolysis for hair removal.
- 1938The blend method is developed by Henri St. Pierre and Arthur Hinkel.
- 1948The blend method is patented.
- 1968Arthur Hinkel writes the first authoritative textbook on electrolysis.
- 1970High-frequency tweezers are used for hair removal.
- 1989"Tweezer devices" appear, offering no permanent or lasting hair removal.
From 1875 to FareWell today
